birth & women's

birth & women's - we had our first appointment at the birthing center on monday...it was very relaxing and cozy!  samantha and carol were super nice!  got to see all the little footprints of the babies who have been born there...so sweet!  there is a picture wall dedicated to the dads who get to help deliver the babies, brandon got all excited...made me smile.  we are really looking forward to the whole experience.  next visit i get to take my glucose test, yum sugary orange drink...i've heard it's hard to get down but a little better when you drink it cold.  tonight we go to our fourth birthing class for the bradley method which has been most informative!  it's a huge relief to get more of an understanding of what to expect during and after pregnancy, and the dad plays an important part in all of it.  it's been nice to spend the time together :)

week 24 - 6 months!

(silly daddy!)

(she weighs more than a pound now!)

week 22

(paka (brandon's grandma) came to visit so he wore this shirt to rouse her.)

week 20

(she's growing good!)

week 19...boy or girl? also the best day ever!

(it's a girl!)

(feet)
it also happened to be brandon's 30th birthday...
(brandon's homemade birthday cake...yummy!)
(yes, that's a ring...he asked me to marry him!  we went to mi cocina's.  i had no idea he was going to ask me.  when we were getting the check to pay he said to the waitress, "today is my 30th birthday." she said, "happy birthday!" and he said, "we also found out today we are having a baby girl!" she said, "congratulations! i bet you will have a lot more to celebrate." puzzled i agreed.  then she set a little box down on her tray.  brandon just sat there so i was real confused...then he got up, grabbed the box and proposed.  it's the best day of our lives thus far!)
(the ring)
(it belonged to my grandma who passed away a year ago.  it's perfect!)

week 15

baby is growing!

week 7

the three of us :)

week 4

the bump starts...

yep, there's brance!

(head is on the left and feet are on the right)
since we weren't sure of the sex, we nicknamed she/him brance (brandon + nance = brance)
at first we were trying to figure out where the body parts were then all of a sudden brance started kicking both legs...we "awwwed" and got teary eyed...it was the sweetest thing!

a baby?!?!?!

well, this was a surprise!
